Prof. Chandana Aberathne, newly appointed Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government assumed duties on the 19th of November at the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government located at Independence Square, Colombo 07.

The Minister addressed the senior officers and stated that this is the beginning of a new chapter of the country’s journey towards development with the newly elected government. He further stated that all the public officers should work together to serve the people with a people friendly attitude. He stated that it is the expectation of the government to create an environment appropriate for the public officers to work freely and to remove the obstacles faced by the officers in serving the public and the people in obtaining the service.

A number of officers including Mr. S. Aloka Bandara, Secretary of the ministry were present at this occasion.
