A programmes has been organized by the Human Resources Development Division of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government concurrently to the World Environment Day, which falls today and the environment week declared by the Government. Theme of the World Environment Day is the ‘Plastic Pollution’ and accordingly this programme has been organized with the contribution of the National Solid Waste Management Center adhering to the above theme. Under this programme, officers were made aware of the risk in using plastic items and the measures, which can be applied as citizens to minimize usage of plastic items
