The Government has taken a policy decision to appoint separate Consultative Committees for relevant Ministries to provide advice to make the functions of the Ministries more efficient and expedited. Accordingly, the presentation of appointment letters to the selected members of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government took place recently (on the 24th) at the Ministry, chaired by the Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government, Dr. A. H. M. H. Abayaratne, Deputy Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government, Ruwan Senarath, and the Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. S. Alokabandara.

The following personnel were selected for this voluntary consultative committee, which consists of ten members, and their appointment letters were presented on this day: Professor Dharma Rajapaksha, Professor Mansoor Mohamed Fasil, Professor M. G. Kularatne, Kanthi Hemamali Wijetunga, Attorney-at-Law S. A. Wijayananda, H. M. Sunil Herath, L. U. Hettiarchchi, H. Thilakawardhana, and N. A. Dharmasiri.
