The official ceremony for awarding the letters of appointment to 1,252 officers newly recruited to Grade III of the Management Service Officers' Service was held today (July 07) at the Temple Trees, under the patronage of Professor Chandana Abayaratne, Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government and with the participation of Mr. Ruwan Senarath, Deputy Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government.

Nearly 85,000 candidates sat for the open competitive examination held on 05th of October 2025, the results of which were released on 10th of April 2026. Subsequently, this group has been selected strictly on merit, based on the marks secured at the examination and the interviews conducted on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of May 2026.

Even though, the minimum qualification for these recruitments is passing the Advanced Level examination, a large number of graduates have also qualified. All the appointees are between the ages of 18 and 29 and among the 1,252 qualified officers, 1,006 have qualified in Sinhala medium, 217 in Tamil medium and 29 in English medium.

These appointments are due to be effective from 15th of July 2026 and the ceremony is organized by the Combined Services Division of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government. The list of qualified candidates has already been published on the website of the Ministry (www.pubad.gov.lk).
