    Mr. S. Aloka Bandara, who is a senior officer in the Administrative Service was appointed as the Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government of the new government on the 19th of November and he assumed duties at the ministry on the same day. Previously he held the office of Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, Local Government and Labour.

    Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government commenced its works yesterday (01st) concurrently to the Clean Sri Lanka Programme launched by the Government.     A group of high-profile public officers representing the public service in Nepal are currently engaged in a study of the public service in Sri Lanka. This group of officers, who were engaged yesterday in a study of the services provided by the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration with the objective of making the public service in this country more efficient, visited the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government today (23). On this occasion, the Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. S.   • The memorandum of understanding is signed between Sri Lanka and Korea for development of sustainable integrated solid waste management programme for Uva and Northern provinces

    Korea International Cooperation Agency has extended its support for a special project for disposing the urban solid waste, which is generated in Uva and Northern provinces, in an environment friendly manner. The expected amount to be spent for this project is USD 10.6 Million. The total amount is a grant of the Korean government to Sri Lanka.
