A meeting between the Canadian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka David McKinnon and the Minister of Public Service Provincial Councils and Local Government Janaka Bandara Tennakoon took place at the Ministry today (09). During the meeting, the High Commissioner shared the pleasure of the Canadian Government with the Minister over the Government's victory in the last election. He also stated that his government is willing to provide assistance for a language promotion campaign at the provincial level to provide solutions to the communication problems of the people of this country. The Minister and the High Commissioner also exchanged views on the potential of the small scale tourism industry for the empowerment of women in the country.
Mr. J.J. Ratnasiri, Secretary of the Ministry and Mr. Mahinda Madihahewa, Adviser to the Ministry were also present on the occasion.
