The plan required to build the new theatre complex of District Hospital, Avissawella has been handed over to thePrimeMinister at Temple Trees.
This thatre complex is due to be constructed as per the instructions given by Mr. Dinesh Gunawardena, Prime Minister as the Minister of Public Administration , Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government at a cost of Rs. 1500 Million on a proposal of Mr. Yadamini Gunawardena, Member of Parliament under the provisions recommended by Mr. Roshan Gunathilake, Governor of Western Province.
Prime Minister Mr.Dinesh Gunawardena stated that the congestion at the General Hospital can be minimized by developing the District Hospital, Avissawella, which provides benefits to the people in two provinces at an emergency. He further stated that not only the buildings at the hospital should be constructed, but also the required machines and equipment with latest technology should be provided. Further, the Prime Minister said that action should be taken to provide the staff that can operate the said equipment. Otherwise people will not be able to receive the benefits of constructing these buildings by making a huge investment. Further, he instructed the officials to take action to expedite the construction this thetre complex and utilize it to serve the public.
