Financial Reporting & Monitoring Branch
Preparation of annual budget estimates and all financial reports related to the Ministry.
The Division functions under the supervision of the Accountant (Financial Reporting and Monitoring) and consists of five Management Service Officers, including the Head of Branch, three Development Officers, a female Management Assistant, and a female KKS.
Main functions
- Preparation of the annual budget estimates of the Ministry.
- Preparation of the Appropriation Account and the account on an accrual basis.
- Providing financial information to the Administration Division for the preparation of the Ministry's Annual Performance Report and the preparation of the annual accounts report.
- Preparation and submission of annual accounts regarding Government Building Rent Revenue under Revenue Head 20.02.01.01 to the Auditor General, preparation of by annual estimates for arrears of revenue, and supervision of the collection of house rents.
- Supervision of financial activities of the Department of Pensions, the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration, and the National Council for Human Resources Development.
Since the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government has been serving as the Accounting Officer on the revenue of house rent from government buildings under revenue head 20.02.01.01 since 01.01.2015, this branch performs the following functions regarding government building rent revenue:
- Preparation of revenue estimates.
- Collection of revenue.
- Preparation of revenue account.
- Making recommendations to write off / refund from the revenue.
- Supervision of the activities in relation to the collection of revenue in arrears.
- Collection of information on government buildings.
